Jeffrey Y. Chung, Ph.D CHFP CSHM, BCPE
Certified Professional Ergonomist and Certified Human Factors Professional
Dr. Jeffrey Chung has 24 years experience in the Environment, Health and Safety profession involving senior-level Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) program development and management, technical and teaching positions at: University of California (UC) Riverside, (UC) Santa Barbara, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (a U.S. Department of Energy multi-program national R&D laboratory), managed by the University of California. He earned his Bachelors degree in Human Factors from UC Santa Barbara, Masters Degree in Safety Sciences from University of Southern California, and a Doctorate in Education from UC Santa Barbara. He is nationally board certified as a Human Factors Professional (CHFP) by the Board of Certification Board in Professional Ergonomics (BCPE), nationally board certified as a Safety and Health Manager (CSHM) by the Institute for Safety and Health Management (ISHM) and holds a State of California community colleges teaching credential for various safety subjects. He has served as the interim Chief Executive Officer for the World Safety Organization (WSO), a not-for-profit international safety and certification organization with United Nations consultative status, Category II (non-governmental organization - NGO). WSO's aggregate active membership is over 1,400 and includes representation from national and international companies, corporations and other entities. His leadership role has helped develop a global strategic direction to make safety a way of life. He is currently assisting the National Safety Management Society (NSMS) as a board member and Director for Special Projects.
